A Plant Gift That Will Show Your Boss You Care

Each October, we take a day to recognize all of the hard-working bosses out there who do everything they can to make our work lives easier. Bosses Day began in 1958 when Patricia Bays Haroski realized her boss- who was also her father- was performing countless tasks daily that simply went unnoticed. She chose his birthday, October 16th, as National Bosses Day and it was made official in 1962. Thanks to her efforts, we now honor those bosses who truly care for the employees in their care. Norton’s Florist is ready for this special occasion with flowers, plants and gifts that will show your boss how grateful you are for everything they do each day. A Floral Tradition That Speaks Volumes

Norton's Florist loves a good sense of tradition; after all, we've been around for nearly a century. Grandparents Day on September 9 is a wonderful reminder to embrace our personal customs, as well as the ones we participate in as a culture. The giving of flowers bridges both types of customs. We've seen people invent their own rituals and gestures for giving, and of course we supply flowers for all of the other occasions. Whether you're offering carnations to herald the arrival of a new baby or offering a lucky bamboo for a housewarming party, your floral giving is steeped in tradition. The Most Beautiful White Flowers For Labor Day And Beyond

When September arrives, many of us feel the need to declutter from summer and make way for fall. Norton's Florist sees Labor Day---which brings with it the season's last long weekend---as the opportunity to rest, relax and rejuvenate. And in fact, this was its historical purpose. When the first Monday in September was designated as an occasion to celebrate the American worker, part of the idea was that we gave that worker the chance to rest. When you spend time with friends and family on that day, whether you're hanging at home or heading to the beach, pool or a barbecue, you're participating in a long-standing tradition that recognizes the need for self-care. A Bouquet You And The Bees Will Love

Norton's Florist is pleased to highlight bees and the flowers they know and love. As maybe the most important creatures on earth, these insect powerhouses are responsible for pollinating over 80% of all flowering plants and 90 commercially-grown crops. Every third bite of food you eat comes from a bee-pollinated plant. Bees give us flowers, sure, but also avocados, apples, coffee, carrots, cherries, onions, oranges, pumpkins and much, much, much more. Simply put, bees are essential to the health and well being of our planet. So, how do flowers charm the bees? Read More about A Bouquet You And The Bees Will Love »
